Mentarang

Mentarang
Salam...
since its new year...
so Happy New Year 2020...
and i would like to share...
my new experience....

it was last week...
the fishmonger sold this Mentarang...
for RM 8 per kilo....
i'm not sure if its expensive or not...
never bought raw Mentarang before...

the last time i look for Mentarang...
was at Medan Ikan Bakar Kuala Perlis...
on 2013...

so after the mud cleaning process...
they look purely white....
some people cook it with it shell...
some people cook it without shell....

this time....
i tried without shell...
since i wanna get rid of the 2 'teeth'...
that looks like fangs and very similar to the shell...
and its 'bone'...
that similar to the cuttlefish and squid...
but cylindrical shape....

the shell are pretty fragile...
but sharp...
might give few minor cuts...
here and there....
wearing kitchen glove will do...
i guess...

anyone that has special tips...
please do comment down below....
so that no more tragedy in the kitchen....

Akak tak pernah beli sbb tak mkn yg bercengkeram ,kecuali kerang...so tak tau la mahal ke murah harga tu..

biasa mkn kat kuala selangor..mentanrang bakar...sedap!! tapi lom pernah beli kat pasar and masak sendiri

Selalu tengok orang jual tapi tak pernah makan.. tak pasti pula masak apa yang sedap dan cara membersihkannya..
